Abstract: Variational/PDE is a powerful tool in image processing and analysis. After decades of intensive research, it is still a challenge to recover high quality images from their noisy, blurry, low-resolution counterparts and/or incomplete measurements. It is especially difficult for images containing important details of various scales. Effective regularity schemes and efficient algorithms play important roles in these problems. This mini-symposium brings together leading researchers to discuss the state-of-the-art theoretical developments in variational image reconstruction, image segmentation, image super-resolution and their applications in medicine biology, etc.
